Clop Clop on the Reedy: A Tale of Huguenot Mill” follows the struggle of 3 characters in the 1890s: MaryLou (a 15-year-old biscuit-maker), Ambrose (a Horse Cab Driver, known locally as “The Story Man”), and Charles H. Lanneau Jr. (historic founder of the Huguenot Mill.) Their responses to a tragic event in 1892 propel the action through 1907--all woven together by a whimsical Narrator/Stagehand named Hack who rolls the actors past images of Old Greenville in an authentic horse cart.
The hour-long, one-act is sponsored by a Metropolitan Arts Council grant as well as by the Fine Arts Ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville.
